via Rouen,*

From Eurotunnel at Sangatte onto A16 westbound to Boulogne.  From Boulogne use autoroute (toll) towards Rouen, about 40 minutes later you pass Baie de Somme services which has a cashpoint, cafe, parking etc. next exit leave autoroute (J 23) still following signs for Rouen (toll Euro 6.80)  and head onto A28 towards Rouen.  At Rouen, go through tunnel as road changes from dual carriageway to 3 lanes, stay in centre lane and follow signs for A13 as you cross the river stay in centre lane, your right hand lane will disappear, be prepared for a very sharp right turn bringing you down to river level, join dual carriageway through industrial area (E402 to Roissel) straight across Roundabout with concrete cows (yes really!) up hill staying on dual carriageway about 2 miles, straight across roundabout, stay in left lane, which leads you through a tight left then right turn onto the A13 Autoroute after 2-3 miles pass Aire de La Bord, down hill bear right towards tolls (Euro1.80) this is the A154 towards Dreux/Orleans.  This becomes the N154 a good dual carriageway past Evreux, dual carriageway ends at Nonancourt, turn left at roundabout N12 towards Dreux.  Crossing several roundabouts and passing through several small villages, watch out for the sign N154 towards Orleans via Chartres.  At Chartes (roundabout city!!)  keep following signs for Orleans on N154. At Allaines roundabout take 4th exit towards A10, watch out for tollbooths on right (THIS IS A DANGEROUS JUNCTION), exiting toll booth keep to the right, taking A10 Southbound via Orleans. Shortly after Junction 14 merge with A71 follow A71 until Junction 5 (toll - Euro9.80) join the A20 for Limoges via Chateauroux, at Junction 23 La Souterraine/Gueret turn eastwards onto N145 past Gueret for approx 15 minutes, take Junction 45 for Jarnages, through Jarnages past village square, just before the end of the village take D13 signposted to Parsac, after about 2km there is a pond on right, you are in the village of Marsat, turn right immediately after pond, up a short hill - Les Hirondelles is the 3rd property on the right as the hill flattens out.

*Initially this seems a more complicated route, having driven both routes dozens of times - this is easier, safer and more enjoyable and scenic.
